    This policy applies to the Truck Optimizer web portal and mobile app (iOS & Android) operated by DNEXTWELT UG.

DNEXTWELT UG is the data controller responsible for your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable German data protection law.

2. What Data We Collect

Account Data

Name and email address (when you register)
Password (stored as a bcrypt hash — we never store your plain password)
Google account name and profile picture (if you sign in with Google)
Phone number (optional, for milestone SMS notifications)

Cargo & Shipment Data

Item names, weights, dimensions, and descriptions you enter
Origin and destination addresses for route optimisation
Customer names and delivery details
Booking records and shipment status history

Photo Data

Photos you upload for AI item recognition are sent securely to our AI provider for real-time processing
Photos are not stored on our servers after processing

Location Data

Origin and destination city/address text you enter for route planning
We do not collect your device GPS location

Technical Data

IP address and device type (collected at login for security purposes)
Browser or app version
Server logs retained for up to 90 days

We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

Account data: Kept for as long as your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
Shipment records: Kept for 12 months, then automatically deleted
Payment records: Kept for 7 years (required by German commercial law)
Photo uploads: Deleted immediately after AI processing — never stored
IP / device logs: Kept for 90 days for security purposes

6. Your Rights Under GDPR

As an EU/UK resident you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
Erasure — ask us to delete your account and all associated data
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
Restriction — ask us to limit how we process your data
Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the German data protection authority: BfDI at bfdi.bund.de

7. Cookies & Local Storage

Truck Optimizer uses only essential storage:

toc_token — your login session token (localStorage)
toc_user — your name and email for display (localStorage)

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

Truck Optimizer is a business logistics tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. International Transfers

Your data is hosted on Railway servers. AI requests are processed by Anthropic (USA) under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as approved by the European Commission.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
